Fluid API Privacy Policy

Fluid App and Website Privacy

Effective Date: 17.01.2025

Conversations Privacy:

Within Fluid App for Mac, there are three modes available regarding the privacy of your conversations:

  1. 1.Offline Mode

  2. 2.Online with Fluid Pro

  3. 3.Online with external provider of your choice (OpenAI, Anthropic, etc…) - this is not private at all, as the content of your conversations is shared with those providers and their respective Privacy Policies applies. If you use external provider, we assume you know what you’re doing.

In all 3 modes Fluid may generate web-search phrase based on your conversation and perform web search with it. This means the search phrase itself is sent out of your machine. The same applies to displaying online images – if Fluid downloads an image for you, the URL of that image is sent outside of your computer. (We consider adding ability to disable any network requests from Fluid app. Drop us an email if you care at contact@getfluid.app)

User Data

Fluid does not collect, store or send any user identifiable data. Fluid does not care who you are. Unfortunately all servers and tools we use likely log user IPs at some point and there’s not much we can do about this. As a good habit we suggest to use VPN to improve your privacy.

Anonymous Data

Fluid collects anonymous hardware/software data (CPU, GPU, RAM, VRAM, OS version, App version, preferred language, etc..) together with randomly generated installation id. This data helps us focus on improving app performance for the most popular hardware/software configuration and calculate retention. We do not collect hardware or operating system serial numbers.

App Health

Fluid uses Sentry for collecting crash data and basic usage events. We use this data to fix Fluid bugs and monitor app’s health. Also please see Sentry’s privacy policy. For Fluid Pro there will be (or is already) an option to turn this logging off.

External Links

Fluid app has buttons that open external websites in your browser (“Send Feedback”, X (twitter), Youtube, Slack). Clicking such buttons causes your browser to send https requests.

Third-party CDN

Fluid app downloads LLMs and updates from CDNs. Such CDNs may log your IPs. It’s not much different from downloading any other file from the internet and if you consider this an issue, we recommend using good VPN (e.g. Mullvad).

Website

For website https://getfluid.app we use privacy friendly beamanalytics.io service. Please check their Privacy and Data Policy. Also if you send data through the forms we have on our website, this data is sent straight to our inbox. Let us know at contact@getfluid.app if you want us to remove emails from you.

Purchases

If you pay by card, we use Fungies as our Merchant of Record and payment gateway provider. Your card payments are processed via Stripe. When you enter a card checkout, both email, IP and likely other metrics are collected by Stripe and Fungies. Please check their respective Privacy Policies (1, 2). We do have access to the email of the account of person paying via Fungies.

Emails

We collect and store emails using ConvertKit service − their Privacy Policy applies. You can always unsubscribe or request removal of your email, either through ConvertKit email, or sending us an email at contact@getfluid.app. We’re not going to sell or share with anyone, except of course sharing with ConvertKit (or any new provider if we decide to change).
